Miss Uyere Gift, a Post Graduate Diploma student of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) has emerged Winner of the maiden 2022 AMSAY Conference Speech Writing and Presentation Competition held recently in Lagos as part of activities marking the 6th Annual Maritime Students and Youth Conference.
Out of 14 contenders that participated in the Speech Making contest, Gift was shortlisted alongside, Ogunleke sheriff Taiwo as top two finalists who were to present their Speeches at the Conference.
After the two finalists have made their speech presentations, the panel of judges announced Gift as the Winner for her excellent speech delivery at the occasion. Whereas Mr Ogunleke Sheriff Taiwo, another Post Graduate Diploma student of Niger Delta University (NDU) emerged the Runner.

As Winner of the Competition, Miss Uyere Gift went home with an Award Plaque, a Certificate of Excellent Speech and a total cash prize of one hundred thousand naira (#100,000) of which #50,000 was donated by the sponsor of the Competition, Capt Dr Fola Ojutalayo; and #30,000 donated by Elkins Marine Training International (EMTI) while #20,000 was donated by Capt Alfred OLUWASEGUN Oniye.

Whereas the Runner Up, Taiwo Ogunleke went home with a Certificate of Excellent Speech and a total sum of forty-five thousand naira (#45,000) of which, #20,000 was donated by the Capt Dr Fola Ojutalayo and #25,000 donated by EMTI.
The Two winners also received free copies of a book from the Mother of the Day, Dr Mrs Felicia Chinwe Mogo on Blue Economy.

Speaking to Platform Reporters after the event, the two Winners expressed their gratitude to the sponsor of the Competition, Capt Dr Fola Ojutalayo, the other donors/benefactors: EMTI and Capt Alfred Oniye as well as to Platforms Communications for the wonderful initiative and opportunity provided for them through the AMSAY Conference.
