Kogi State Govt Ready To Partner FOMI In Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign Initiative

The Kogi State Ministry of Culture and Tourism has expressed readiness to partner Face Of Maritime International (FOMI) in its Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign Initiative by rendering all necessary supports to ensure the success of the Pet Project of the 2021 Queen Tourism, Face Of Maritime International, Queen Grace Eleojo Omede. 

Commissioner of Kogi State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Hon. Salifu Isah Idachaba made the promise when he received the Kogi-born 2021 Queen Tourism, Face of Maritime International in his Office in Lokoja. 

Hon. Idachaba congratulated Queen Grace over her emergence at the keenly contested maritime industry pageantry, noting that her emergence was a testament of the rich talents inherent in Kogi State indigenes. 

He said the Ministry will play her role at ensuring the success of every projects she ventures into, while praising her for raising the name of Kogi high outside the shores of the State. 

Speaking further, the Commissioner enjoined her to stay focused and remain committed towards impacting the lives of others positively, stressing that she would be remembered for the impact made during her tenure as Queen Tourism, Face Of Maritime International.

Earlier in her opening remarks, the visiting Queen Grace Eleojo Omede said she was on the courtesy visit to familiarize with the Commissioner and the Ministry, and as well, intimate Hon. Idachaba about her planned pet project. 

Queen Grace explained that the pet project is meant to sensitize the girl-child in secondary schools on the opportunities available in the Maritime Sector. 

She said the project will go a long way at helping youths chose wisely on maritime careers that will help them impact the State and the Country at large. 

Queen Grace also appreciated the Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon. Salifu Isah Idachaba for granting her audience, pointing out that the warm reception granted her by the Ministry made her feel at home. 
She however requested the support of the State Government to enable her embark on the project to achieve huge success. 

Queen Grace Eleojo Omede, a native of Igalamela-Odolu LGA of Kogi State, emerged “QUEEN TOURISM, FACE OF MARITIME INTERNATIONAL” at the 6th Grand finale of the Face of Maritime International held in Lagos in November 2021. 

Face of Maritime International is a Maritime industry pageantry of International standard which uses role modeling to promote gender advocacy, women empowerment and greater involvement of women in Maritime professions which is hitherto dominated by men.
