Bello-Koko, Nwakohu, Nwagbara, 5 Others Honoured With NISH Award

The Acting Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mohammed Bello-Koko; the Registrar, Council For the Regulation of Freight Forwarding In Nigeria (CRFFN) Barr Samuel Nwakohu; popular maritime lawyer, Barr Emmanuel Osuala Nwagbara and five others have been honoured with the 2021 edition of the Nigerian Sheroes and Heroes (NISH) Award.    

In a press statement made available to newsmen on Friday by the organisers, Face Of Maritime International (FOMI) and signed by its Executive Director, Mr Sylvanus Obasi, the award was conferred on the eight receipients during the 2021 Grand Finale of Face Of Maritime International tagged “A Night of Beauty & Women Empowerment”  which held recently in Lekki-Lagos.

According to Obasi, other notable Nigerians honoured with the NISH Award are popular Nollywood actor, Mr Temple Ugochukwu Ikeji (aka T.Temple); fast-rising film-maker, cinematographer and TV Presenter, Miss Busola Olu, and a fashion consultant, Ambassador Tokunbo Odedina. 

Others include the Secretary-General, Abuja Memorandum of Understanding on Ports State Control, Capt Sunday Umoreen, as well as the Provost, Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology (FCFMT), Dr Chuks Onuoha. 

Speaking about the award  Mr Obasi hinted that the Nigerian Sheroes & Heroes (NISH) Award is a yearly special recognition award designed to honour outstanding and courageous men and women who have risen from zero to hero in their fields of endeavors; people who have used their talents, professions or good positions to champion noble courses and by so doing affected the lives of many Nigerians positively such that they can be called Heroes & Sheroes of our time.

Obasi further revealed that the award receipients were recognised based on their uncommon heroic achievements in their respective fields of endeavours.
