Miss Andress Adedoyin, a 24 year old indigene of Ondo state has won the Voting Campaign Task in the ongoing 6th edition of Face Of Maritime International (FOMI), a maritime industry pageantry.

Andress beat 19 other contestants to occupy the top spot after week three which marked the conclusion of the first voting campaign task last Sunday night.

The Voting Campaign required that the voting graphic of all the contestants were posted on the official social media pages of Face Of Maritime International, and the contestants were to trend the voting graphic and use it to solicit for votes from the general public, especially their fans and supporters.

At the end of the 21 days voting campaign, the top 10 candidates with the highest number of votes would be published whereas the candidate with the highest votes after the 21 days will be declared winner of the Campaign.

To this effect, after the three week voting campaign, Andress came top with 66% of votes, whereas her closest contender, Miss Jesinta Dalyop came second with  46.5% votes,  while Miss Esther Onyemazu came third with 18.2% votes respectively.

Speaking to Platform Reporters after she was announced winner of the Voting Campaign, the fresh Computer Science graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, expressed happiness and joy for coming out top.

She said, “My biggest strategy to becoming a winner is observation and drafting out plans to be at the top. I feel it is very important to have it in mind that you play to win and not just to compete.

I feel happy but this is just the starting point, I will not encourage a lazy, effortless and weak spirit because  my goal for being committed, poised, hardworking and determined is success”.

When asked if she has ever felt discouraged to continue with the contest, especially after losing the Facebook and  Instagram Challenges, she said, “Concerning the facebook challenge, I really campaigned for it, but unfortunately I knew I couldn’t win it because I am not active on facebook, so are my friends

Talking about the Instagram challenge, hmm, a lot happened there that  broke my heart. First of all, truthfully, I was discouraged at first and felt like I did too much, but where I’m coming from, there is nothing like ‘doing too much, so I summoned the courage to go on.

“Still moving on, about 3 days into the challenge, few of my contenders acted tricksters and I felt cheated, not because they bought views, likes and some followers within that period, but because even if I have what it takes to buy, I wouldn’t dare, because I want to lay a good example of transparency and integrity.

“But in all of these trials, I realized that it can only get better. Even after it gets better, we see it as good and say again “IT CAN ONLY GET BETTER”.

Responding to questions on what she could say to Jesinta Dalyop who led the voting campaign for the two consecutive weeks only to be overtaken at the last minutes, she said, To Jesinta Dalyop, I am your contender as much as you are mine. You are a fighter as much as I am and I saw the fight during the first two weeks. 20 contestants deserved that spot as far as we all fought for the spot, but it belongs to just 1.

“So I will say to you and everyone that ‘ Until you win, do not relent’, as we all know that its a game and overtaking is officially and practically allowed. Please, do not lose focus nor should your relent nor be discouraged. One love”.

Speaking further on her preparations to go win the FOMI 2021 crown, the warm-skin toned damsel whose Favour food is pasta and whose hobbies are modeling, chess and reading said, “It has always been said that ‘ uneasy lies the head that wears a crown’ . The journey through a pageant is an uneasy and taskful one and I am aware of that and very prepared for this.

“I will love to win the FOMI 2021 title and crown, and no room for pessimism“.

Similarly, Platform Reporters also spoke with the closest contender, Miss Jesinta Dalyop to know if she felt heartbroken rafter losing the first spot to Andress in such a sudden manner.
