Miss Esther Onyemazu, a 23 year old indigene of Imo state has emerged winner of the just concluded Instagram Dance Challenge conducted by the organisers of the 6th edition of Face Of Maritime International (FOMI) as the second preliminary task in the ongoing maritime industry pageantry.
Esther beat 19 other contestants to emerge top best in the Dance Challenge which ended yesterday.
The Dance Challenge required that the dance video and profiles of all the Contestants were posted on the official instagram page of Face Of Maritime International, and the general public were asked to like, view and comment on the video of their favourite contestant. At the end of 7 days period of the Challenge, the candidate with the highest likes, views and comments was declared winner of the Challenge.
To this effect, Esther’s video and profile attracted 83 Likes, 31,619 Views and 127 Comments, making a total score of 31,829. Whereas her closest contender, Miss Jesinta Dalyop came second with 2,178 Likes, 29,056 Views and 517 Comments, totaling 31,751 scores.
Speaking to Platform Reporters after she was announced winner of the Challenge, the Marine Engineering undergraduate of YABATECH whose hobbies are singing and dancing, expressed happiness and joy for coming out top.
She said, “Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing, and the key is not the will to win because everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important. I was determined to win and at the same time ready to win.
“Winning Jesinta wasn’t easy for me i must say she really gave me a tough one but knowing that winner’s don’t give up easily so I persisted just as my winning was a narrow escape but I had to win”.
When asked what she thinks about Miss Jesinta her closest contender who gave her a hot chase in the closing hours of the challenge, she smiled and said, “😁😁😁😁 it was indeed a hot chase and vigorous struggle. I gave it to Jesinta because she almost chase my spirit out of my body, but knowing I had to keep running 🏃♀️ I hold back my spirit from giving up😁😁😁 I didn’t even give Grace Omede this kind tussle during the Photo Challenge, but then Jesinta also thought me a lesson which is “Winners don’t make excuses. So I couldn’t give up despite the pressure she put me through“.
Responding to questions on her expectations going into the next task, called ‘Voting Campaign’, she said, “My best is always expected in all phase of the challenge and I won’t relent until I finally achieve the goal. So God help me this time 🙏 This is a stage I call “Survival Of The Fittest “, she concluded.
Similarly, Platform Reporters also spoke with the closest contender, Jesinta to know how she felt after losing the first spot to Esther in such a slim margin.
She said, “I really felt bad about it and I wish I could do something, but I also took it as a challenge upon myself to put in more effort and do better next time. However, I’m happy for her irrespective and I congratulate her for her victory”.
Speaking further, Jesinta revealed her preparedness and expectation to win the overall contest.
“Yes, I am really prepared and I don’t accept defeat so I’ll keep pushing until I achieve my goal. I have high expectations for this and I am determined to come out first with God by my side I strongly believe”.
Meanwhile, the management of Face Of Maritime International has congratulated Miss Esther Onyemazu for clinching the top spot in the just concluded Instagram Dance Challenge.
In a congratulatory message sent to her after she won the Challenge, the organisers also revealed that by winning the second task, she has automatically won the position of Camp Commandant for the 3rd and 4th day in the forthcoming FOMI Faculty Camping ahead of the Grand Finale if she qualifies to enter the Camp.
Adding that she has also been rewarded with one month data subscription, courtesy of Queen Timipere Christopher, the current FOMI Ambassador.
Recall that 20 damsels were admitted as contestants into the 2021 edition of the maritme industry pageantry after a successful Audition held recently.
The 20 Contestants are to compete for the prestigious crown of Face Of Maritime International wiith it’s attendant benefits comprising official car, #500,000 cash prize, endorsement deals and other fringe benefits.
