The Management of Platforms Communications Concept, Publishers of Platform Reporters Online News and Organisers of Face Of Maritime International (FOMI) has sympathised with the Hadiza Bala Usman -led Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) over the quantum destruction wrecked on its corporate headquarters in Marina and it’s Tincan Port Office in Apapa Lagos by angry youths during the recent #Endsars protest.
In a letter of Commiseration addressed to the Managing Director of the Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman dated November 17, which was signed by Chief Executive Officer of Platforms Communications, Mr Sylvanus Obasi, the frontline maritime media outfit said, “As a media company with passion for youth development and mentorship in the maritime industry, Platforms Communications can attest to NPA’s friendly disposition to youth-centred initiatives and programmes as the authority has previously sponsored and supported the Annual Maritime Students And Youth Conference (AMSAY Conference); the Face Of Maritime International (FOMI); the Girls Go-To-Sea Campaign (GGOTSEC) all of which are youth-centred programmes organised by Platforms Communications in the maritime sector.
“It is therefore rather unfortunate that Nigerian Ports Authority is a victim of an expression of anger and frustrations by the Nigerian youths occasioned by years of bad governance, police brutality, youth employment and neglect by government both at federal and state levels.
“Platforms Communications condemns this unwholesome act of quantum destruction metted on the NPA’s headquarters. This is uncalled for and unacceptable, especially in a country whose economy has been devastated by COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Management of Platforms Communications hereby expresses out heart-felt sympathies and solidarity to the Management of Nigerian Ports Authority in this trying times. We want to know that you have our morale backing and unflinching support, for together, we will rebuild NPA and make it great again”, Obasi noted.
