The forth-coming Annual Maritime Students and Youth Conference also known as ‘A Day With Nigeria Maritime Students’ earlier scheduled to hold on Wed, May 27, 2020 has been postponed until further notice.
In a public notice sent to maritime stakeholders and the general public on Thursday which was signed by Mr Sylvanus Obasi, the CEO of Platforms Communications, the Conference organisers stated as follows:
Due to the ravaging Corona virus pandemic, the Management of Platforms Communications hereby announces the postponement of the 5th Annual Maritime Students & Youth Conference popularly known as ‘A Day With Nigeria Maritime Students’ scheduled to hold on Wednesday, May 27, 2020.
This postponement has become inevitably imperative due to the rising cases of Covid19 in Nigeria despite the partial easing of the lockdown by the federal government.
AMSAY Conference is a platform that converge about 500 participants, and the organisers would not risk the lives of participants, hence a new date will be announced when Covid19 pandemic is over and normal business and school activities resume fully.
We regret the inconveniences this postponement would cause you. Please do bear with us as it is done in the interest of public health.
Once again, a new date will be announced as soon as Covid-19 is defeated and government lifts the ban on social gatherings in Nigeria.
