The Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Ikewoli the 2nd has called on all stakeholders in the Delta Ports to give maximum support to the Hadiza Bala Usman-led Management of Nigerian Ports Authority in order to sustain the transformation which her regime brought to the ports in the region.
The Royal father made this call recently while receiving the representative of the Managing Director, the Executive Director, Marine and Operations, Dr. Sokonte Davies in his palace in Warri Delta state.
Speaking during the visit, the Monarch stated that Hadiza Bala Usman being the first female Managing Director of NPA has transformed the fortunes of Warri, Koko and Sapele seaports in his domain, which had been dormant over the years. He added that the people of his domain would always be proud to associate with the NPA boss.
The royal father who also prayed for Hadiza to succeed in her assignments, said his people were excited over the dredging of Escravos channel which he said would boost economic activities of Delta state.
Earlier in his remarks, Dr. Sokonte informed the traditional ruler that the Authority had concluded plans to commence the dredging of the Escravos channel.
In his welcome address, the Port Manager of Delta Ports, Mr Simon Okeke disclosed that Warri port has never had things better before now. He commended the current Management of NPA for providing adequate infrastructure thereby making Warri port to function optimally.
