Assistant Comptroller General of Customs and Commandant of Customs Command and Staff Training College, ACG Charles Edike has been honoured with the Ultimate Integrity Award by the Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists, NACJ.
Those who were honored alongside Edike were the Cross River state Governor, Prof Ben Ayade, Senator Victor Ndoma, Prof Pat Utomi, and Justice Oludotun Adebola,
Others include Dr. Atilade Olufemi Oshoniyi, Hon. Abike Dabiri, Mr. Sidney Ufeli and Mr. Tony Akiotu amongst others.
Presenting the award to ACG Edike, the Association revealed that the Customs commandant emerged from those shortlisted based on his sterling performance as a Comptroller.
Speaking at the occasion, Prof Pat Utomi said that Integrity is doing the right thing whether one is being watched or not.
On his own, the Former Lagos state gubernatorial candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje, revealed that integrity does not mean that someone is perfect. Rather, integrity is doing what benefits, promotes and supports the majority even at a great pain and self denial to the individual.
Responding, Edike dedicated the award to officers and men of the Nigeria Customs Service. He however thanked the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), for giving him the opportunity and support that have enabled him carry out his duties effectively.
