A Day With Nigeria Maritime Students Holds Today In Lagos

Baring last minutes changes or hitches, all is set to host the 2nd Annual Nigeria Maritime Students Conference also known as A Day With Nigeria Maritime Students scheduled to hold this Friday  in Lagos.

Briefing newsmen yesterday in Lagos on the level of preparations towards the occasion, Mr Sylvanus Obasi, the Chief Executive, Platforms Communications, organisers of the annual Conference said that all is in place to ensure the event holds on Friday as planned.

He revealed that this year’s Conference would be unique in many ways especially as the company plans to honour 10 Best Graduating Maritime Students at the occasion.

Speaking on the content of the event, Mr Obasi revealed that the Director General of NIMASA, Dr Dakuku Peterside has confirmed he would be present at the occasion to make a Lead Presentation on the central theme, entitled, “Solving The Challenges Of Nigeria Maritime Students: The NIMASA Game Plan”.

Other speakers include Capt Dr Sule Abiodun, the Provost of Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology who will be speaking on the topic, “The Youth And The Future Of Nigeria Maritime Sector: Developing The Right Competence & Character For The Profession”.

Whereas Engr Greg Ogbeifun, the CEO of Starzs Investment Company Ltd and President of Shipowners Association of Nigeria will also speak on “Exploring Entrepreneurial Opportunities In The Nigeria Maritime Sector”.

The 2017 Maritime Students Conference will hold this Friday, (today) May 26 2017 at Ace-Olivia Hall, Lagos City Mall, Onikan by 9am prompt. Over 400 participants are expected to be in attendance.
